Walk for your Health

Took a 2+ mile walk on the new Peabody Independence Green Way.
Can't wait to take my bike on it in the spring...or maybe if we get some warm weather soon. This  new Rail Trail is a total of 10 miles long.

Day 2 - A New Me you may be asking "where is day 1"?
Day 1 was yesterday and I didn't think to do this until today....let me explain...
March 2007 my Dr gave me a choice....change my diet and exercise or go on Cholesterol medication. I chose the healthy by August 2007 I had lost 15 lbs and lowered my Cholesteral dramaticly.  I felt great...but slowly over the course of a year I had gained back 10lbs and once again my cholesteral has gone back up.
I know what I need to do, but I have been struggling to eat right and get back on my stepper...I just have not found the motivation. I keep saying "tomorrow...I will start tomorrow". But tomorrow never comes. And then tomorrow gets me in a deeper hole that I have to dig my self out of.
So yesterday, was finally my tomorrow...I spent 30 minutes on the stepper.  And today is day 2 with 30 minutes on the stepper.
I am not writing this for sympathy...but for  puting this out there to keep me honest and true to myself.
So I am starting a new project "A New Me". Don't worry I won't be posting photos of myself each day...ugh. But I will continue to post photos that I take and inspire me and chronicle my progress and my struggles...This I hope will keep me motivate and honest...please feel free to comment and push me....I need it
Love and Peace

When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes.
But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls!  ~Ted Grant

The Season's they are a Changin

I am a New England girl through and through. Every season is so special to me.
Spring: I love the smell of the first warm day in spring...the air has a refreshing feeling to it and then the flowers start to bloom and it is so colorful.
Summer: the shoes come off, the jackets get hung up and hot air brings icecream and a sense of being carefree.
Autumn: I love the crispness of the cool air, the colorful changing leaves and then the rustling of the fallen leaves on the ground.
Winter: And when that first snow starts to fall.....I smile with glee like a little kid all over again.

Every Season in New England is special...embrace what it the season has to offer.

Vintage - 1960s

For all you baby boomers out you remember these insulated cups that came in a variety of sizes??? We had them growing up...who else out there grew up with these?
These were seen at The Friendly Toast restaurant in Portsmouth NH

The Light by the Window

Lately or maybe because of the Street Photography class I recently took, I love the look of black and white photography. So today  while I was on a photowalk with friends in Portsmouth NH, I set my camera to Monochrome.  I was very pleased with the photos that i produced. I think, for me, taking photos in monochrome makes me pay more attention to the subject rather than the colors in the subject.

Look-up Thursday

I hate to admit this, but i have not picked up my camera for maybe a week now. so I looked into the recent archives where i have lots of awesome photos that probably no one will ever see but me.

This was taken in late October in Newburyport Ma when the autumn leaves where at their most yellow color peak. THIS photo is one of the many reasons why fall is my most favorite season.

Ms. Caroline

I had the privileged of photographing my friend Heather's little girl recently.
Ms. Caroline is 13 months old and is such a sweetie.

Walkway or Message?

My photo class went to Salem MA on Saturday Oct 31st instead of a location in Boston.  It was a perfect location for street photography.  I found this photo op while walking back to my car....very intriguing for sure, especially for Salem MA

Over the Underpass

I have been spending a lot of Saturdays in Boston this fall because of the photography class that I have been taking at NESOP .  It is a "Street Photography" class and I am enjoying it a lot and learning lots. It has been such a rewarding experience and I am glad that I finally took the plunge. You can be sure that I will be taking more classes in the future. This photo was taken a few weeks ago during one of my Boston Photo Walks.
