121/365 - Reids Knot

Got up early Sunday morning and headed up to Gloucester Ma to volunteer my photography services. Took photos at the finish line, for the 5th Annual Reid's Ride Bike-a-thon which is the core fund-raising event for the Reid R Sacco Memorial Foundation in its mission to support scientific and clinical research targeted at cancers striking adolescents and young adults.

Reid Sacco passed away in April 2005, at the age of 20, after a two-year battle with sarcoma. In his short life, he inspired and touched an incredible number of people with his courage, perseverance, ambition, hope, humor, intelligence, humility, generosity, and kindness.

This bracelet was designed by a local jeweler and is named "Reid's Knot".
Take time to read the story behind this braclet.

118/365 - Street Sax Player

Day 4 in Warren Ohio
My cousins Nancy & Susie and her husband Jack, took Bill and I into Cleveland for the day. This Street musician played a mean sax...He was wearing a Michael Jackson T-shirt and was playing MJ songs. He picked just the right corner to play we walked up the side street away from him, his music echoed nicely and was a beautiful sound.

117/365 - The Knitting Project

Day 3 in Warren Ohio
While the boys golfed, the girls did some serious shopping. One of the stops was to the craft store. I bought some smaller knitting needles and cotton yarn. I only know how to do the "knit" stitch, so today my cousin, Nancy taught me the "pearl" stitch and we sat around making small wash cloths and coasters. This one is Nancy's project.

115/365 - Warm Welcome

Day 1 in Warren Ohio
My Husband and I flew into Ohio on Monday, July 13, to visit my "Big Italian Family". My Dad grew up in Warren Ohio and was the oldest of 6 children. I am one of 28 cousins. Growing up, my family, who was the only ones who lived out of state, visited my dad's family in Warren almost every summer. And to this day, me and my cousins are still very close....i love the closeness and then warm sense of belonging that I still feel when i visit.

103/365 - I am....

“I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it -- I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself. I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with all my parts. I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know -- but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me. However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me, and I am Okay.”
Virginia Satir
